Mission

Forests offer important options for mitigation of global environmental issues and achievement of sustainable resource use. In our division, we are engaged in a variety of advanced research, education, and training activities in order to achieve the following.

  1. Conservation and sustainable utilisation of forest ecosystems
  2. Sustainable future for people and forest ecosystems
  3. Technological advancement in the use of forest-based resources

Our graduate school program encourages students to obtain advanced knowledge on various functions associated with forests and wood as a key sustainable resource.  We look for motivated students who are interested in helping achieve a sustainable society through their expertise about forest ecosystems and forest-based resources.
